About Us

Meet Ruth

Founder of Coffee n Clay

I’m Ruth — founder of Coffee n Clay, and a lifelong believer in the restorative power of creativity.

Coffee n Clay was born from a desire to create something slower, more meaningful — a space where adults, families, and friends could step away from the noise and reconnect with themselves and each other through art, conversation, and a good cup of coffee or glass of wine!

As a family-owned business, this studio reflects my values: intentional living, creative expression, and genuine connection. I wanted to build more than just a pottery painting studio — I envisioned a welcoming, calming environment where people of all backgrounds and skill levels could feel at ease. Whether you’re here to unwind after work, catch up with a friend, or try something new, you’re always welcome.

This isn’t just about pottery. It’s about presence — creating something with your hands, enjoying the moment, and leaving just a little lighter than when you arrived.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Lead Studio Assistant & Resident Cat Lover 🐾

Kat brings creative energy, calm vibes, and a love for all things handmade (and feline) to Coffee n Clay. As one of our Lead Studio Assistant, she’s the friendly face who’ll help you pick the perfect piece, or talk you through colour combos — all with a smile and maybe a fun cat fact.

When she’s not in the studio, Kat is painting pottery for her friends and family, often turning birthdays and holidays into beautifully hand-painted moments. Her creativity doesn’t clock out — and that’s exactly what makes her such a special part of our team.

Meet Em

Lead Studio Assistant & Coffee n Clay’s Resident Songbird 🎶

Em brings a unique mix of artistry and stage presence to Coffee n Clay. As a Lead Studio Assistant, she’s not only helping you find the perfect pottery piece or advising on painting techniques — she’s also adding an unforgettable vibe to our studio with her musical talent

Known for her warm energy and eye for detail, Em glazes your pieces with care and paints her own work with bold, expressive style. But what really sets her apart? On our special theme nights, you’ll catch Em singing live — filling the studio with music as guests paint, sip, and unwind.

Whether she’s working the room, belting out a tune, or helping you mix the perfect shade of blue, Em makes the studio feel alive with creativity and connection.

Studio Assistant & Rising Star 🌟

Annabelle is the newest member of the Coffee n Clay team — and she’s already made a big impression! She originally joined us as a work experience student, and it didn’t take long for her creativity, enthusiasm, and natural talent to shine. We were so impressed, we offered her a Saturday job!

Now, Annabelle brings her positive energy to our busiest days, helping to keep the studio running smoothly, and learning the ropes of everything from bagging pottery, to table talks. She’s got an eye for detail and a genuine love for the creative process — and we can’t wait to see how she grows with us.

Keep an eye out — this one’s going places. 🎨✨

Studio Assistant & All-Round Legend 💪

Reece is the kind of team member every studio dreams of — hardworking, reliable, and genuinely invested in making sure every customer has the best possible experience. Whether he’s setting up for a busy session, helping you choose the right piece, or making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, Reece brings care, focus, and high standards to everything he does.

He takes pride in the little details, always checks twice, and never hesitates to lend a hand (or a smile). Reece is a big part of what makes Coffee n Clay feel calm, clean, and welcoming — and we’re lucky to have him on the team.

Meet Amy — Lead Studio Assistant & Your New Pottery BFF

Meet Amy! She’s the friendly, chatty soul who makes our pottery studio feel like a second home. With a ton of pottery know-how and a knack for making everyone feel at ease, Amy’s always ready with a helpful tip to brighten your day.

Whether you’re here for your first paint or your tenth, she’s the one who’ll cheer you on, keep things running smoothly, and make sure you have a great time creating.

Basically, Amy’s the friend you didn’t know you needed in the studio!

Meet Harriet – Coffee n Clays Calming presence!

You might not hear Harriet before you see her, but she’s always there—calm, observant, and quietly keeping everything running smoothly. She has a knack for noticing the little things in the studio—whether it’s a spill that needs wiping, or a guest who might need a hand—and she’s on it before you even think to ask.

With her friendly smile and get-it-done attitude, Harriet brings a peaceful energy to Coffee n Clay. She’s the kind of presence that makes the studio feel effortlessly welcoming—and we couldn’t do it without her.

Meet Scott – Studio Assistant & Plant Dad

Scott’s our longest-standing studio assistant—and a true part of the Coffee n Clay fabric. He knows his way around a paintbrush, a glaze palette. Whether it’s helping guests choose colours, troubleshooting a tricky technique, or offering a quiet tip that makes all the difference, Scott’s your go-to.

With his dry sense of humour and easy charm, he keeps the mood light and the shelves stocked. He’s also the proud caretaker of our studio plants, making sure they’re thriving right alongside our creations.

Friendly, capable, and full of quiet knowledge, Scott’s the kind of presence that makes you feel instantly at home. Whether he’s helping guests or cracking a quiet joke that has us all laughing, Scott brings calm, care, and character to every day.

Meet Charlotte (Lottie) – Studio Assistant

Hardworking, Focused & Quietly Brilliant

Lottie’s the one who hits the ground running the moment she walks through the door. Over on the studio side, she’s helping guests, answering questions, and glazing pottery with total focus and flair. She’s sharp, switched-on, and gets things done—fast.

She brings a steady, thoughtful energy to the studio—warm, friendly, and always dependable. Lottie’s the kind of person who keeps things moving with calm confidence and real care.

She’s off to uni soon, and while we’ll miss her heaps, we’re so glad she’ll be back during the holidays—because the studio simply isn’t the same without her.
